We traveled up to Cass County Missouri for Christmas on the farm! My mother grew up here and all of her relations are still there- in fact we are related to most of the town. And it's not uncommon to for people to come up and talk to me that are related to me, via our grandparents being siblings or something and I don't know who they are- but they know who we are as ours is the only family that didn't grow up there. When we arrived at my aunts house Sunday night there was much commotion- my cousin Glenda say several fire trucks, police and an ambulance at Alan Hoover's house (my mom's cousin) when the smoke cleared we learned that he had passed away from a heart attack while carrying in fire wood- it was so sad, and right before Christmas. We felt for his family, particularly my Grandma's sister Jeanie (Alan's mother) who is such a kind and sweet lady and has now buried 2 of her 3 children, and her husband. Things like this make me feel so grateful that I know the Plan of Salvation, and don't have to question what happens to those who pass on. This made our family reflect much at Christmas.
We had a fun time with all the cousins- Michael had a blast playing with all o cousin Lisa's girls and Cousin Marks son Daniel, who is a year older then Michael. It was so nice to spent time with extended family. We also had the privilege of webcaming with our Utah peeps and it was so nice to see the Weight's- even if it was over webcam.
*pics to come- they're on my mom's camera;)
